It’s been a little while since we last checked in on LaMelo Ball.
The longtime Hornets guard was traded to the Timberwolves on Thursday morning, with hopes that he can help the team secure its first championship. Just a few months earlier, Ball had a life-altering experience with his model girlfriend.
In May, Ball and Anna Montana shared the news that they welcomed their first child, Rawan, back in January.
Along with this significant milestone, the couple also launched a nonprofit called I Am Fertility, aimed at assisting women on their fertility and IVF journeys.
“Welcoming Rawan into the world changed our hearts for the better,” the couple shared. “Family has always been everything to us, but becoming parents has provided us with a fresh outlook on love, purpose, legacy, and what truly matters most.”
Ball and Montana expressed how Rawan has positively impacted their lives: “He has brought so much happiness and meaning to our lives. We feel incredibly thankful to God for such a special blessing,” they added. “We look forward to this new chapter filled with love and excitement as we nurture and guide our son together.”
The goal of their nonprofit is to offer education, emotional support, reliable resources, and increase awareness around reproductive health.
Ball and Montana began dating in 2021 and made their relationship official on Instagram in 2023. Interestingly, Montana is 12 years older than Ball.
After a recent playoff game, she celebrated Ball’s success during a postgame press conference by sharing a video set to Nipsey Hussle’s “Victory Lap.”
As Ball transitions to the Timberwolves next season, Montana will be there to support him.
In the trade, Ball and teammate Josh Green were sent to Minnesota in exchange for Naz Reid, along with a 2033 unprotected first-round pick and several other draft picks.
Currently, the Timberwolves are facing elimination by the Spurs in the second round of the playoffs.
