Latinos trust former President Donald Trump more than President Joe Biden on immigration issues, according to a poll released Thursday by Equis.
poll Indicated Among 1,592 Hispanic voters surveyed in seven battleground states, 41% said they trusted Trump on immigration, while just 38% said they trusted Biden.
The poll was conducted in English and Spanish from April 20 to May 5, 2024, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
“We are excited to be working with Equis Labs to develop a new platform for AI,” said Carlos Odio, co-founder and senior vice president of research at Equis Labs. Said According to Axios, Democrats no longer hold the advantage they once had with Latinos on immigration issues.
Odio said the problem for Democrats and Biden is “great uncertainty about support” for the president among Latino voters, of which 36.2 million will be eligible to vote in 2024.
“Many Hispanic voters who were once reliably Democrats are increasingly identifying as independents, while working-class voters are leaning toward the Republican Party,” Axios reported.
The outlet reported that various polls conducted by Axios-Ipsos Latino research firm have consistently shown that the top issues for Latinos are inflation or the economy, with immigration low on the list of concerns.
The Trump campaign has called for Latino support, announcing the “Latinos for Trump” coalition in June.
The Latino Pro-Trump movement was founded on the fact that under President Trump, the Latino community in this country has a president who is committed to removing obstacles that prevent minorities from achieving the American Dream.https://t.co/IHMprPlkMg pic.twitter.com/Rx7NLAzm3E

Daniel Alvarez, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, told Axios in a statement, “The Trump campaign’s outreach to minority communities stands in stark contrast to Joe Biden’s failed campaign, which only sought to gaslight minority voters with desperate ads and pandering speeches.”
The Biden campaign is reportedly stepping up outreach to Hispanics in key states such as Arizona, Nevada and Georgia, and Biden has announced an amnesty for 500,000 illegal immigrants with citizen spouses.
