LaVar Ball Makes Waves Again
LaVar Ball is in the spotlight once more.
Following the Knicks’ impressive 130-93 win over the Cavaliers in Games 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Ball took to social media to share his insights on the game.
And, well, it was exactly what you might anticipate.
“I just wrapped up watching the Knicks and Cavs game. I couldn’t be happier,” he began. “You see, they got their son Lonzo for moments like this. Not just for a regular season; this is why he was brought in. Just look at how stunned you all seem.”
LaVar was talking about his eldest son, Lonzo, who started the season with the Cavaliers before being traded to the Utah Jazz in exchange for draft picks in February.
He didn’t stop there—LaVar pointed out the deeper issues troubling the Cavs and hinted how Lonzo could have made a difference.
“There weren’t any easy transition buckets. That’s Lonzo’s specialty—fast breaks and defense. Why did they struggle? Because of their fast breaks, lack of intensity, and poor leadership. That’s where Lonzo shines.”
Lonzo played in 35 games (with three starts) for Cleveland, averaging 4.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in about 20.8 minutes per game.
To wrap up his thoughts, LaVar shared a forward-looking statement.
“But you folks will learn your lesson. The big ballers know what’s up. Time for Charlotte to step up and make a move.”
The Charlotte team, which is on the rise in the Eastern Conference, includes LaVar’s other son, LaMelo, along with a promising group of young players. LaMelo had an impressive season, appearing in 72 games, with averages of 20.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds, shooting 36.8 percent from beyond the arc.
