Lawmakers target billionaires funding leftist 'hate campaigns' after Kirk's assassination

Response to Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

Following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, Congressional Republicans are taking steps to address what they term “radical organizations” influencing the country.

A prominent businessman and activist, Neville Roy Singham, has financially supported left-leaning NGOs such as Code Pink. Critics within these organizations argue that certain groups are guilty of shaping young Americans’ beliefs and deepening political divides. It’s worth noting that Code Pink was co-founded by Jodie Evans, who is married to Singham.

“We no longer allow billionaires to fund anti-American political movements,” stated Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican representative from Florida. She accused Singham of spending vast sums on groups linked to violent protests and hate campaigns targeting those with contrasting views.

Due to Singham’s associations, Luna and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Kommer are urging Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent to place a freeze on his assets.

Singham has been scrutinized for ties to operations linked to the Chinese Communist Party, which raises questions under the Foreign Agent Registration Act. He has been accused of financing numerous groups aligned with these foreign interests, prompting calls for action against them.

The letter sent to Secretary Bescent emphasizes the urgent need to mitigate any financial support for activities deemed harmful as directed by foreign entities.

Additionally, the House Oversight Committee has previously summoned Singham to provide financial and communication records related to these organizations. However, he has yet to comply with this request.
