Leavitt demonstrates U.S. wage growth despite low, steady inflation: 'Don't listen to the alarmists and have faith in President Trump'

Leavitt Defends Trump’s Economic Management

In a recent press conference, White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt defended President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy, dismissing criticism she described as part of the “Panican.” This term, reportedly coined by Trump, refers to individuals he believes are overly anxious about new tariffs and their implications.

During the briefing, Leavitt highlighted positive economic indicators, noting that the July inflation report had again surpassed market predictions. She emphasized that inflation, which has been stable, is running at an annual pace of 1.9% during Trump’s initial six months in office.

“We’re seeing encouraging economic trends. Today’s CPI report shows that inflation rates have consistently outperformed market expectations,” Leavitt stated. “Across the board, we’re witnessing positive growth.”

Her comments reflect the administration’s confidence in the current economic landscape and its critique of skepticism surrounding Trump’s policies. Leavitt suggested that doubts stem from unfounded fears.

On social media, Leavitt reiterated a message of optimism. “Ignore the Panicans and trust Trump. Wages are rising and inflation is low,” she wrote. “President Trump’s economic agenda is working.”

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated that the consumer price index experienced a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, beating several expectations. Leavitt pointed out specific declines in prices of everyday essentials, including energy costs and groceries, framing this as a testament to the effectiveness of the administration’s strategies.

“Prices for everyday goods have been decreasing. For instance, gasoline prices were nearly 10% lower compared to last year,” she noted. “Egg prices have also dropped significantly since Trump took office.”

Leavitt underscored the trend of increasing wages, asserting that American salaries are growing at a pace that outstrips inflation. Her remarks painted a picture of rising income levels, coupled with a stable economic environment.

“Wage growth for American workers is surpassing inflation,” she remarked. “As inflation decreases, we remain committed to enhancing the financial well-being of Americans.”

She concluded with a call to Americans to disregard worries stemming from the “Panican,” affirming confidence in Trump’s economic vision.

“Our motto here at the White House is to trust President Trump. His economic policies are indeed effective,” Leavitt emphasized. “The recent CPI data illustrates that inflation continues to defy expectations, underscoring our commitment to reducing costs for families.”
