It’s been a decade since LeBron James famously declared, “Cleveland, this is yours,” at Rocket Arena.
To mark the occasion, members of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to England to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their historic NBA championship win.
James was joined by Iman Shumpert, Matthew Dellavedova, and Richard Jefferson, with some members seen arriving in golf carts to meet up with the rest of the group.
Once they were together, the excitement was palpable. They hugged, exchanged pats on the back, and recreated the unique handshakes they had as teammates. It was a warm reminder that some bonds last forever.
Jefferson shared a video on his Instagram where James playfully asked, “You guys thought this trip was over?” and the group responded gleefully with, “Sike!”
Interestingly, Kyrie Irving, who didn’t join in this celebration, was noticeably absent from the videos and the festivities.
Their trip kicked off earlier in the week with golf and sightseeing adventures while they were abroad.
The 2016 Cavaliers were a team that, despite facing a daunting 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors, managed to pull off an incredible comeback.
During those critical moments, James and Irving stepped up their game. Irving, in particular, made a pivotal three-pointer over Stephen Curry with under a minute left in the game, wrapping up the series with impressive averages of 27.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
LeBron, who grew up in Akron, Ohio, ultimately fulfilled his dream in 2016 by leading his hometown team to victory. He delivered an outstanding performance throughout the series, averaging 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 7 assists, earning himself the MVP title.
