However, James made it clear early on that he wouldn’t disclose that information during the episode, which included guest Tyrese Haliburton from the Indiana Pacers.
According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, shortly after they began, Haliburton attempted to ask him about his future. James reportedly responded, “Didn’t we already talk about this behind the scenes?” Haliburton then decided to drop the subject, saying, “I’ll leave you alone.”
This interaction suggests that James prefers to avoid discussing his free agency during this particular podcast, which seems more focused on other basketball-related subjects with Haliburton. It’s worth noting that there’s still a chance he could make an announcement later in the day at the Game Plan Summit, an exclusive event hosted by CNBC and Boardroom.
Despite not revealing anything during the podcast, it seems unlikely that he’ll share any decisions in other media appearances later. Perhaps he’s just not ready to go public yet, or maybe he wants to keep everyone guessing a little longer.
