Leftist Arrested for Threatening to Kill Campus Conservatives

Incident at University of Utah Leads to Arrest

A student at the University of Utah was taken into custody by campus police on Monday, following allegations of threats made during an event organized by the College Republicans chapter of the school.

Dean Stewart was charged with making violent threats, obstructing a police officer, and disorderly conduct. Riley Beasley, the vice president of the University of Utah Republican Federation, remarked that Stewart allegedly referenced the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA). Beasley quoted Stewart as saying, “I’m going to kill you Kirk,” while also mimicking a shooting gesture towards the group.

Later, Beasley expressed his belief that the Democratic approach endangered their lives, suggesting that universities play a role in exacerbating radicalization among students.

Stewart, who has held the position of “vice president of equality and representation for the Salt Lake Community College Student Association,” reportedly clashed with police when they requested identification. He asserted his Fifth Amendment rights, as noted by a post-millennial report.

A campus officer warned Stewart about the charges he was facing, which included intimidation and not complying with a lawful order. Stewart is currently being held on a $1,000 bail.

In response to the incident, several conservative figures and elected officials shared their views, highlighting an increasing concern over safety for conservative voices on campus. Senator Mike Lee remarked on the alarming trend of intimidation, while TPUSA Chief Operating Officer Tyler Bowyer emphasized the broader implications of such threats on political discourse in the nation.

The Department of Education has yet to comment on the situation.
