Hecklers Disrupt Kamala Harris Book Event
Former Vice President Kamala Harris confronted a chaotic scene during a recent book reading when she faced hecklers labeling her a “right-wing war criminal.”
The disturbances came from members of the left-leaning group Climate Defiance, who interrupted Harris while she promoted her book, “107 Days.” They accused her of complicity in “genocide” in Gaza, attributing both the violence there and the election of Donald Trump to her actions. One heckler was quickly removed after claiming that Harris is responsible for the events in Gaza.
“Kamala Harris, you are a right-wing war criminal! You financed genocide for 161 days!” one protester shouted, causing considerable disruption. The accusations continued with claims of her failure in the election, insisting that her actions have contributed to Trump’s presidency. Another pointed out that, “Your 107 days have given Trump 4 years! This is all your fault!” (Related: Joe Biden seems just as fed up with Kamala Harris as we are)
In a follow-up post on X, Climate Defiance reiterated their stance, declaring, “We said what we said.”
Another voice in the crowd declared that Harris’s “legacy is genocide” and accused her of setting the stage for the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Reacting to the heckling, an incensed Harris suggested that protesters direct their concerns toward Trump, as he currently holds the presidency. “You know what? I’m not the president of the United States. Go to the White House and talk to him,” she responded, receiving applause from some audience members.
Harris’s book tour has been met with repeated interruptions from pro-Palestinian activists, including a previous incident in New York City where she reiterated that she could not address the ongoing Israeli-Hamas conflict as she is not in a presidential position.
In a separate but related note, twenty Israeli hostages held by Hamas were released Monday as part of a peace deal brokered during Trump’s presidency. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lauded Trump as Israel’s “greatest friend.”
