Legal expert Dan Abrams to launch a new restaurant in New York City

Dan Abrams’ New Restaurant Venture

Dan Abrams, the Chief Legal Analyst at ABC News, is gearing up to open his latest restaurant.

Previously, he co-owned the Tribeca Eatery White Street and the popular Greenwich Village spot, The Lion.

Abrams is now working on a new restaurant located at 46 West 22nd Street, which will be called Danny, an “American wine bistro.” This spot was formerly home to Malerna.

The opening is targeted for the end of September, and I’ve heard he’s in the process of interviewing several talented chefs. A fresh interior design is also in the works.

According to Oenophile Anchor, the wine selection will feature lesser-known wine-producing states—think places like New York, Virginia, Texas, Colorado, and Michigan. It seems Abrams is really leaning into a local focus.

Abrams also owns a Long Island winery, ev & em vineyards, which is named after his child.

The vibe at Danny is expected to draw inspiration from the old Elaine, mixed with influences from Keith McNally’s restaurants and Ralph Lauren’s polo bar.

The restaurant will also showcase art that pays homage to the historic Women’s Mile district.

White Street was known for attracting a vibrant mix of media, political, and entertainment figures, from ABC News personalities like George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts to Hollywood stars, which is quite a legacy to follow. However, while White Street boasted 220 seats, Danny will provide a more intimate setting with just 75 seats, conveniently located in the Madison Square Park area.

The Lion, opened in 2010, was also a notable hotspot when it debuted.

Abrams sold the Law and Crime Network in 2023, marking a significant shift in his career, and he’s also the founder and CEO of Abrams Media, which focuses on various media personalities.
