There’s a noticeable trend in the way liberal media handles stories that seem to favor the left, often going to great lengths to amplify them—regardless of their factual basis.
Examples abound, such as the intense coverage of the Russia collusion narrative, debates about President Joe Biden’s capabilities, the Jussie Smollett incident, the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, and the treatment of Covington Catholic students during the 2019 March for Our Lives event.
In contrast, stories that could potentially threaten liberal narratives tend to get very little attention. A recent such instance involves the Biden FBI’s Arctic Frost operation.
According to an analysis by NewsBusters, major networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC have steered clear of discussing this topic recently.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released documents on October 6, revealing how the Biden FBI scrutinized the personal cell phone records of at least nine Republican Congress members during Operation Arctic Frost. This operation is linked to at least one case against former President Donald Trump, spearheaded by the assigned special counsel, Jack Smith.
Last week, Grassley shared further documents indicating that more than 400 Republican individuals and organizations had their records subpoenaed as part of what he referred to as a “fishing expedition.”
Blaze News observed that by Thursday afternoon, none of the liberal media outlets—like ABC News, The Atlantic, CBS News, the New York Times, or the Washington Post—had reported on the latest revelations about the Biden administration’s actions targeting conservatives.
Television coverage has echoed this negligence. ABC, CBS, and NBC have not addressed the Arctic Frost findings during their main broadcasts over the past week, not even on weekends.
NewsBusters analyst Jorge Bonilla commented, “There was no mention of the secretly obtained subpoenas affecting 197 individuals, including some Congress members. It’s concerning that these documents often come with gag orders, raising questions about legal implications for the judge involved.” He added that if similar actions had been taken during Trump’s presidency, there would have been an outcry from the media.
David Bozell, director of the Media Research Center, pointed out that not one network would dedicate even a moment to this story. He noted, “Typically, they’d at least mention it to claim coverage, but this time they didn’t see fit to do so.”
Blaze News confirmed that major networks did not report on the Arctic Frost allegations last week, with just a single NBC News piece offering a sympathetic view of Jack Smith.
Meanwhile, instead of tackling the serious topic of the FBI’s actions against conservative senators and organizations, discussions on liberal networks revolved around things like the construction of a White House ballroom and various unrelated current events.
