Lincoln Project co-founder says Biden campaign in ‘death spiral’ following questions on president’s age

Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt issued a stark warning Monday about President Biden’s chances of re-election, saying his campaign is currently in a “death spiral” with less than nine months until the 2024 election. He suggested that he was falling into.

In Substack post “There’s no excuse for this surprise,” Schmidt criticized Democrats, saying the majority would rather wait in line, stay in line, and smile than tell the American people the truth about Biden. He said he was thinking of doing so.

He also said the idea that Biden is the most likely candidate to defeat former President Donald Trump is “ridiculous.”

“The reality is that the Biden campaign is in a death spiral this week, the first time a sitting president has been this far removed from an election since Lyndon Johnson in 1968, when he announced his intention to withdraw from the race in March. “It’s as serious a moment as there ever was in 1968,” Schmidt said.

Biden held a last-minute news conference last week to dispute concerns about his memory and mental acuity detailed in special counsel Robert Hur’s report. Shortly after Biden claimed that his own memory was “fine,” he began referring to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi as the “President of Mexico.”

The media condemned the press conference, with The New York Times hailing the event as a “political disaster.” Subsequent White House defense of Biden’s suitability for the presidency did little to allay media concerns.

Schmidt said the White House’s response to the Hur report was “shocking, incompetent, bewildering and completely incompetent” and has only gotten worse since Biden’s press conference.

“The White House staff is bellicose and angry at the vast majority of the public who are concerned about the president’s age,” he said.

The Lincoln Project co-founder said the Biden campaign, instead of adequately addressing voters’ concerns, embraced “arrogance as a virtue” and expressed “delusions of grandeur as grand as those of a malignant narcissist who can’t do anything.” He claimed that he had decided to “suppress reality.” He believes he lost the election. ”

“What are we, the people, witnessing? Are we not witnessing a gigantic act of selfishness at the expense of our country? A few desperate to hang on to power at all costs? “Aren’t you looking at people’s ambitions? What? Whatever the risks? Whatever the costs? Whatever the risks,” Schmidt asked.

Schmidt also criticized Biden’s Super Bowl social media posts, likening them to “AI-generated slurs” and “advertising nursing homes with poor amenities.” Schmidt also suggested the president made a “big mistake” by refusing to give an interview to CBS News before the big game.

Joe Biden’s terrible, terrible, no, very bad week and the Democrats’ next move

This is the second year in a row that Biden will skip the traditional pre-Super Bowl interview. Mr. Biden has not given a formal interview with a journalist since October 15th on CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

“There are 267 days left until Election Day. It’s no good pretending that everything is fine and ignoring the obvious. The stakes are too great,” Schmidt continued. “The chances of a Democratic convention may increase dramatically in the coming weeks. There’s one name you should know: Governor Wes Moore. These could be exciting days for Democrats.” There is enough sex. We must win for both America and America.” There is no other way for the party to survive. ”

Fox News Digital did not return a request for comment from Schmidt.
