Senator Lindsey Graham’s Sudden Passing
In a shocking turn of events, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham passed away Saturday night. Prior to his death, emergency medics were called to his Washington, D.C., residence due to a report of a man experiencing chest pains. Unfortunately, it was later revealed that Graham, in his 70s, was having a heart attack.
Emergency dispatch audio discussed by the Post indicated that the first call regarding the situation came from a visitor en route to Graham’s $890,000 Capitol Hill townhouse around 8:30 p.m.
His office released a statement confirming that he died due to a “short-term, sudden illness,” though they didn’t detail the specific cause.
Approximately 25 minutes after the 911 alert, paramedics noted that CPR was necessary and that a man in the home was in cardiac arrest. Emergency responders worked to stabilize Graham before he was transported to a hospital.
A Baltimore resident placed the first emergency call, indicating that someone inside the home was suffering severe chest pains, according to the recorded call.
Interestingly, the dispatchers mentioned that the caller believed the front door was unlocked. However, when medical professionals arrived, they found the door completely bolted, which delayed their entry into the residence.
