LIV CEO Greg Norman posts Anthony Kim hype video as “star to be reborn”

LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman adds another strong name to his stable of talented golfers as Anthony Kim joins the Saudi-backed league starting March 1-3 at LIV Jeddah. Ta.

When rumors surfaced that the former world No. 6 was planning a return, fans wondered which tour he would be on.

Fans have an answer.

Norman confirmed that Monday morning. Posted a hype video to X, formerly known as Twitter.

“He exudes incredible talent. The world has seen it in the past, and now, as Commissioner of LIV Golf, I am honored to give this star a chance to make a comeback. Welcome to the LIV Golf family. The world of golf has missed you,” Norman captioned.

The video begins like a nature documentary with a narrator. There are various images such as desert, lava, rain, and lighting, creating the atmosphere of a hero preparing for battle.

“The journey begins in the silence of the desert, where time has stopped,” says the narrator. “For years this path has been in darkness with little hope, but this is a rebirth. Witness the dance of redemption as a new path emerges against a backdrop of endless possibilities. ”

There are also silhouette videos of Kim hitting shots with a club in his hand and walking around the course. When it’s over, the message is clear. It’s Kim’s return to professional golf.

It’s been more than a decade since the 38-year-old played in a competitive golf event. Golf fans last saw him at the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship, where he withdrew from the tournament. He eventually disappeared from public view, rarely seen or heard from until rumors began circulating in early 2024.

Many believed he would return to the PGA Tour, but the $10 million insurance policy he took out on himself caused problems. If he returns to golf, that policy will no longer be valid, so it seems like he’s guaranteed to get his money either way if he goes to LIV Golf.

Kim will not belong to a specific team and will participate in the LIV Jeddah tournament as a wild card. Is this a one-off or will Kim eventually join the LIV Golf Team? If he does not join the team and competes in a few events in the Saudi-backed league, he will be on the PGA Will you be welcomed back on tour?
