Live update: House GOP unveils bill to avert shutdown; Trump pauses tariffs and pushes for ceasefire

House Republicans on Saturday announced a 99-page six-month stop-gap funding bill while avoiding government shutdowns and increasing defense funds, likely to be the main focus of this Sunday show.

Additionally, President Trump's trade war with top US trading partners intensified this week.

The president also said he is putting additional sanctions on Russia and pressured the Kremlin to participate in peace talks. But Trump said earlier this week that he is struggling to deal with Ukraine.

Fiona Hill, a former Russian White House adviser, is scheduled to appear on CBS's “Face the Nation.” She will discuss the latest before and after between Washington and Kiev and the potential meeting between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia next week.

Rep. Amibella (D-Calif) was one of the 10 House Democrats who voted to denounce fellow Democrats (Texas) on Thursday, two days after lawmakers enveloped Trump in a Tuesday night's Congressional session. The California Democrat will be taking part in News Nation's “The Hill Sunday,” and will go into detail about the vote to rebel Greene.
