Liz Wheeler Talks Trump’s Flag Burning Executive Order

In a recent episode of “The Liz Wheeler Show,” Liz discussed President Trump’s executive order regarding the burning of the American flag. It raised some intriguing questions—what does one really say about such an order? Justin T. Haskins from the Heartland Institute also joined to discuss Washington state laws that may impact the seal of confession.

This week, Trump signed an executive order addressing the burning of the American flag, leading to a variety of reactions, not just from the left but also from his supporters.

Wheeler noted, “The intense pushback from Trump’s followers shows he’s quite passionate about this.” She added that listeners might find her perspective on the matter surprising.

“These are extraordinary times. The attacks we face are serious—targeting the legitimacy of our nation and our constitutional rights,” Wheeler elaborated.

She pointed out the legal protections other symbols enjoy. For instance, in Washington, D.C., a teenager faced severe penalties after defacing a trans flag on the street. “Why is it that symbols favored by one side get protection, while ours do not?” she questioned, raising concerns about fairness under the law.

While some argue against the so-called slippery slope, she argued that this isn’t just theoretical; there are real implications. For instance, parents opposing certain educational ideologies have been labeled as violent extremists by some entities.

“Already, our expressions have been deemed as violence by those in power. So, concerns about slippery slopes may sound reasonable in theory, but the reality is far more complex,” she concluded.
