A horse that escaped caused quite a stir in Santa Fe, leading to a large police operation to manage the situation.
This incident took place just prior to the Desfile de La Gente festival in New Mexico on Sunday. A team comprising Santa Fe Police Motors, Bicycle Officers, Animal Services, UAS Drone Operators, and some local cowboys collaborated to ensure the horse was safely escorted away from the bustling streets.
An online video of the event captured the police officers pursuing the horse in an effort to get it back under control. Eventually, they managed to corral the horse on Canyon Road, and its owner brought it back to the parade’s start point for some water before the festivities commenced.
After this little adventure, the horse participated in the parade.
The annual Desfile de La Gente festival, often called the Santa Fe Fiesta Historical/Hysterical Parade, showcases the rich culture of Northern New Mexico.
Interestingly, just two years earlier, a police chase and shooting near the fiesta grounds caused the 2024 parade to be halted.
