Los Angeles Kings broadcaster Patrick O’Neal home burned down in wildfires: Many ‘still suffering’

Los Angeles Kings broadcaster Patrick O'Neal is one of many residents affected by the area's massive wildfires.

O'Neal shared a video of himself in front of the burned remains of his family's home during the Kings' pregame show on FanDuel Sports Network West before Friday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

“I want to send my prayers to the many people affected by the fires in Los Angeles County,” O'Neal said. “Thousands of people have lost their homes. Our family has also been affected and we lost our family home in Malibu. We would like to thank everyone for your support. is safe and the dogs are safe, but many people in the Southland continue to suffer.”

O'Neal, who has attended Kings broadcasts for 20 years, said his family had not been physically harmed by the fire that killed at least 11 people as of Friday night.

He also noted the King's efforts to raise funds for those in need in the community.

The Kings' home game against the Calgary Flames was postponed to Wednesday.

“Our hearts are with the entire Los Angeles community,” the Kings said in a statement. “We are grateful to our first responders who are working diligently to extinguish fires and protect our communities. We appreciate the league's support in keeping our fans, staff, and players safe.”
