Patricia Arquette reflects on filming her nude scenes for Lost Highway in a new interview.
The 55-year-old actress opened up about her concerns during an appearance at the Series Mania festival in France on Thursday.
“I was very humble. I was taking a bath in the dark,” Arquette said, according to Variety. “The scene where my character had to strip was scary for me.”

Lost Highway director David Lynch apparently intervened after Arquette expressed his displeasure.
“Some people said vulgar things and I said to David, ‘That’s offensive,'” she admitted. “‘They’re saying terrible things.'”
“He said, ‘You read the script. Wait, who said what?’ When I came back, all the guys were looking at their feet and looking apologetic.” Arquette continued.

Arquette previously opened up about her “phobia of nudity” in a 2022 interview with the Guardian.
“One of the reasons I took this role was because of my nudity phobia, and doing all the nude scenes didn’t cure that,” she said. “When I saw that moment in the movie, I had to peek through my fingers.”
Arquette also revealed that she visited a femdom club to prepare for the role, saying, “I visited some strange clubs to prepare for the role. Some of the customers… “It also included shops where queens paid money to use them as tables. I tried to study what kind of power relationships there were.” There were micro-expressions on people’s faces. ”
