Law enforcement sources say he was stabbed and killed during a fight at a faraway Rockaway home during a weekend knife fight.
33-year-old Nilkinson Leonel Medina was repeatedly given a knife to her chest.
A woman at the heart of the deadly conflict witnessed a violent ordeal, sources said.
Police received a 911 call about the violent fight, but both men fled by the time officers got there, officers said.
The NYPD searched the local hospital and found Medina seriously injured at St. John's Episcopal Hospital, police said.
Medina, who took less than a mile from the scene, was declared dead later that day.
Police are still investigating the stab wounds and no arrests had been made by Monday morning.
