Luigi Mangione: Leftist hero of the oppressed OR injured man with a death wish?

When United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was murdered in cold blood, a wing of the radical left celebrated. Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz actually said she felt “joy” when she heard the news of Thompson's murder.

Her argument was that Mr. Thompson deserved to die because, as chief executive of a major insurance company, he had “denied life-saving medical care” to “tens of thousands of innocent Americans.”・Morgan Uncensored'' told Piers Morgan.

The narrative among those who share Lorenz's rebellious sentiments is that Thompson's killer acted out of altruism.

But now that Luigi Mangione has been arrested, his alleged motive is “becoming clearer,” says Liz Wheeler of “The Liz Wheeler Show.”

Since his arrest, Mangione has been charged with “one count of third-degree possession of a firearm and one count of second-degree possession of a forged document.” [and] Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will also “face state charges in Pennsylvania.”

When authorities looked into his background, they found some information that contradicted left-wing claims that he was a champion of downtrodden people who were locked out of health care due to corporate greed.

For example, “He comes from a wealthy family in Maryland,” Liz says. He also “graduated as valedictorian of his high school,” a prestigious prep school that “cost $40,000 a year” before enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania.

“His family seems to be relatively stable. There's no obvious dysfunction in his family,” she added, noting that “his cousin is actually a congressman in Maryland.”

As for Mr. Mangione's political views, Liz says they are “all over the place” and somewhat “contradictory.” Mr. Mangione “identifies as an anti-capitalist,” according to his former roommates and his online footprint.

However, Liz is unsure whether Mangione's juxtaposed anti-capitalist views necessarily motivated the murder. Those may be factors, but information that has come to light since his arrest suggests there is more to this story.

For example, the fact that he was seriously injured likely influenced his decision to kill Thompson.

Mangione was “born with a defect in his back,” which was exacerbated by a surfing injury he sustained several years ago. “These two things seemed to combine to cause debilitating back pain,” Liz explains, which ultimately meant she was unable to enjoy her favorite activities, such as hiking, surfing, and exercising.

Although the surgery didn't relieve the pain, “his friends, family and former classmates say it really brought him out of his depth. It caused him to have a kind of mental breakdown.” she added

Mangione lost contact with friends and family about six months ago, according to his digital footprint.

His former roommate recently reported to the Daily Mail that Mangione was in so much pain that he “couldn't maintain a relationship, which meant he couldn't have sex.”

Liz feels strongly that Mangione may have been “suicidal” due to this limiting injury.

There have also been reports of drug use since then. Liz suspects that she was prescribed painkillers after her back surgery, but she has not been able to confirm this. He also reportedly ingested mushrooms, or “ayahuasca,” which is a “really dangerous hallucinogen.”

In addition to these physical factors, Mangione harbored ill will toward giant corporations like United Healthcare that mistreated Americans.

A law enforcement official who was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity said a three-page handwritten document in Mangione's possession alleges Mangione acted alone. “It contained a sentence that said,” Liz said. Reading from blaze news report.

The Manifesto also stated that the murder “had to be done” and that “these parasites just wanted it done.”

Additionally, “Luigi Mangione praised the Unabomber on Goodreads,” calling him an “extreme political revolutionary” and claiming that “violence is necessary.”

When you put all the factors together, including his anti-capitalist/pro-violence mindset, his back pain, the limits of his life with a serious injury, and the drugs, “in some ways he was committing suicide by cop,'' Liz said. I say. “Or he had this seemingly death wish.”
