MA town to fire employee who ordered police to remove Trump flag: report

The Massachusetts town will hold a hearing Monday to determine whether managers will be fired after a dispute between himself and the local police station.

In January, West Boyleston Police Chief Dennis Minic was on a tour of the department when town manager James Ryan spotted Trump's flag at a police gym, private, and ordered Minic to be removed the next day reported Fox 25 Boston.

Ryan said the flag was a civil rights violation, according to Fox 25, and told Minich to send it to his office.

“I've never told an officer [they] President Trump's flag could not be raised. Minig told Fox 25 of Ryan's order to remove the flag and hand it over to Ryan's office. “I think it's illegal. It's illegal for him to ask me to hand it over to him. It's certainly not right.”

The police chief confirms whether the flag has been removed, claiming Ryan discreetly sent another employee to the police station a few hours later. The employee discovered that the new Trump flag had replaced the old one, Fox25 reported.

Minic took both flags, but has since filed complaints against Ryan.

“He lied to me. He questioned my sincerity,” Minic told Fox25. “Everyone has their opinions, but I don't trust them. Trust the man, when I go back to work, [I’m] Report to the Selector, Chair's Board of Directors, or there will be some issues. Because I don't trust men. ”

Minnich did not respond immediately to inquiries from Fox News Digital.

Ryan's lawyer, John Clifford, could not immediately comment, but Clifford confirmed that the West Boylston Select Board has decided to close Ryan on Fox 25. Fox News Digital reached out to the West Boylston Select board.

“Just as these allegations are ridiculous, the Select Committee has decided to terminate Mr. Ryan based solely on Prime Minister Minch's allegations,” Clifford told the outlet in a statement. “It's not hearing, as the outcome is a natural conclusion.”

Clifford also said Minig refused to attend Monday's hearing.

“Chief Minic chose to turn this into a political circus, and in the process I am ashamed of myself and West Boyleston,” Clifford said. “Chief Minic has made several references to his 'professionalism' as Chief, but apparently he doesn't seem to understand or respect the legitimate process, including the right to stand up to the accuser. ”

According to Clifford, Minig appears to have refused to meet Ryan personally.

“James [Ryan] I have never taken a position of or against President Trump, political candidates or the party,” Clifford said. If Chief Minic had engaged in a reasonable or thoughtful dialogue with the town manager, they could have solved this problem in many ways. ”
