The town of Windham, Maine, is facing controversy over its first-ever Pride event after drag queens performed in front of an audience of children on Sunday, the New York Post reports.
Wyndham hosted the event, which was aimed at celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. according to According to the New York Post, the plan was initially to exclude drag performers, but a drag queen named Retta Dicken, who calls herself “Maine’s No. 1 Plus Size Drag Queen” on her blog, showed up at the Pride event at the last minute.
