A taxpayer-funded commission in Maine sponsored a very expensive webinar on January 2nd about the state's “offensive” place names.
The main wire identified the organizer as the Permanent Committee on the Status of Indigenous Peoples and Tribal Populations (PCRITP). report It added that the event was hosted on January 5 by Erica Arthur and Meadow Dibble, founders of the nonprofit organization Atlantic Black Box (ABB).

After a long introduction by Arthur, listing her pronouns as “she/they,” and asking everyone to acknowledge the suffering caused by “white settlers,” Dibble gave the webinar’s main presentation. Ta.
The presentation, which lasted about 30 minutes, was the culmination of a $132,804 taxpayer-funded contract awarded to ABB by the Commission on Racial Equality.
Throughout the event, Dibble argued that the names of certain areas in Maine are offensive and should be renamed.
“She claims that the Wabanaki Indian Nation calls the state 'Dawnland' and is targeting Maine counties named after Founding Fathers, such as Washington, Franklin and Hancock counties, criticized itself,” the Wire article said.
Mr Dibble also highlighted the name Old Maid Rock, saying some local names are not appealing to women.

In April 2022, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services advertised Webinar on “The Impact of Bias and Microaggressions.”
The online event website said:

Breitbart News reported Thursday that Maine taxpayers are paying for apartments built specifically for arriving border crossers and undocumented immigrants, and they have already received about two years worth of payments. It was reported that they will be able to enjoy rent.
The news comes as Americans struggle to make ends meet in President Joe Biden's economy.
