Major League Baseball legend Steve Garvey narrowly edged out Representative Adam Schiff in California’s Senate primary.

As of Wednesday morning, Garvey, a 10-time MLB All-Star, had received more than 5 million votes, about 85% of his expected return, and was leading Schiff by an incredibly narrow margin of just 4,801 votes. .

Despite millions of dollars spent against Garvey in the state’s most expensive U.S. Senate primary, Garvey’s trajectory remains competitive to finish in first place.
