Exclusive: A majority of county sheriffs in the battleground state of Pennsylvania backed former President Trump on Thursday, saying they have “confidence in his leadership and ability to protect our country.”
FOX News Digital obtained a letter signed by 49 of the state's 67 county sheriffs saying Trump is the best candidate to support law enforcement and secure the border.
“As elected law enforcement officials in Pennsylvania, we constantly hear two messages from our constituents and neighbors: They want communities that are safe for their families and children, and that they want communities that are safe for their families and children, and that professional politicians “We are against radical police defunding plans,” they wrote.
“That's why we proudly support President Donald J. Trump and wholeheartedly support his candidacy for President of the United States.”

County sheriffs said they were “along with police and law enforcement” “even before Trump became a presidential candidate.”

County sheriffs pointed to the unprecedented flow of illegal immigrants through the U.S. southern border under the Biden-Harris administration, emphasizing that “immigration is not just a problem in border states.”
County sheriffs singled out the Trump administration and said the U.S. has “secure borders and adequate enforcement of immigration laws.”
“World leaders respect President Trump and border crossings have stopped,” they wrote. “Without his strong leadership, our borders would be wide open, allowing thousands of border crossers to enter each day and unimaginable amounts of deadly drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine flowing into Pennsylvania communities. , bringing crime and devastation to countless families.”
County sheriffs said President Trump “understands that we cannot have a functioning country without borders.”

“He understands the destruction that open borders have wreaked on our country, our commonwealth, and our communities,” they continued. “He understands the critical role that law enforcement plays in maintaining safety, stability, law and order. That is why we have confidence in his leadership and his ability to protect our country. .”
He added, “I know that President Trump supports Blue, and I am proud to support him as the 47th President of the United States.”
