More than half of voters described Trump’s second term as “confusing” and “scary” in a new poll released Friday.
New York Times/Siena College poll It turns out that 66% of registered US voters felt that the term “confused” was a good explanation of their second White House stint, while 59% thought it was “scary.”
Almost half of Republican voters (47%) agreed that the first three months of power before the president’s first three months were “confusing.”
It was thought “scary” to think there were few Republicans and independents, 36% and 61% respectively.
The survey found that 42% of voters described Trump’s second term as “exciting.”
Trump’s approval ratings were underwater for all issues voted by the New York Times and Siena University.
Voters gave 78 presidents the highest mark on how he handled immigrants, 47% approved and 51% disapproved.
Trump’s lowest approved rating came when he was asked about how he tackled the Russian war against Ukraine and the deportation of MS-13 gang member Kilmer Abrego Garcia.
Only 35% have approved Trump’s handling of the Ukraine-Russian war, with 31% approving a lawsuit involving Abrego Garcia. The president’s net approval rate was -21 points in both issues.
Less than half of voters were satisfied with the way Trump controlled the federal government (44%). Economy (43%); Trade (42%); Foreign conflicts (40%).
Overall, 42% have approved Trump’s work in an oval office so far, while 54% have disapproved.
Pollers surveyed 913 voters across the country between April 21 and 24. The margin for errors in the poll was 3.8% points.
