A majority of Georgia voters trust former President Donald Trump more than Vice President Kamala Harris to handle the crisis, with the economy being the top issue, CNN reported. exit poll As a result of surveying the sentiments of voters in the Peach State,
CNN's exit poll asked respondents who they would trust more to handle the crisis. Fifty-one percent said they trusted Trump more, compared to 47% for Harris, giving Trump a four-point advantage.
Additionally, a large majority (58%) disapprove of President Joe Biden as commander-in-chief, compared to 41% who approve. This could also be detrimental to the Harris-Waltz camp, given that Harris has been in power with Biden for nearly four years.
Additionally, the economy emerged as the most important issue in exit polls, with 40% of respondents identifying it as the most important issue. This is good news for Trump, as economic issues are considered one of his strong suits.
The second most important issue for Georgia voters was “democracy,” with 28% choosing it, followed by abortion at 14%, immigration at 11% and foreign policy at 3%.
Voting ends in Georgia at 7pm ET. There are 16 electors at stake in the Peach State.
