Man, 25, arrested after randomly punching elderly men, stopping to pose for casual photo that one victim took

A California man randomly beat two elderly victims in separate incidents and casually took a photo after one of the incidents. Arrested Authorities announced this on Saturday.

Suspect Nicholas Hostetler, 25, has been identified in connection with two separate attacks on elderly men in Campbell this month. Campbell Police Department Said.

In the first incident on May 4, Hostetler allegedly beat the victim on San Tomas Aquino Street and then fled, police said.

However, the suspect stopped on the sidewalk and casually posed while the victim took photos in an attempt to identify him.

Police released photos on social media and asked the public to help identify the suspect.

Police say the second random attack happened Friday morning when a 75-year-old man was out walking in Campbell.

Hostetler allegedly punched the victim in the face near Inwood Drive and Elam Avenue.

Police said Hostetler attempted to fight the family before leaving the area.

Officers immediately began searching the area and quickly identified Hostetler as a suspect.

Police contacted Hostetler’s parents on Saturday morning and, with their help, Hostetler left the home and was arrested without incident.

Authorities said Hostetler allegedly kicked an officer while being booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on two counts of elder abuse.

Hostetler was also charged with assault on a police officer.

“We cannot thank the community enough for their cooperation in these cases,” police said, “and can assure you that officers are working diligently to investigate these cases to the best of their ability.”
