A sex worker has shared messages allegedly sent by an Australian man believed to have murdered a 17-year-old girl before attempting to dispose of her body.
Simon Peter Carman, 45, originally from Ballarat, is facing several charges, including murder, body concealment, and abduction of a minor for indecent purposes, after Tunchanok Donhomra’s body was discovered in a suitcase.
In unsettling new revelations, the sex worker claims she communicated with Carman while Donhomra’s body was hidden in her apartment bathroom in Pattaya. Reportedly, Carman texted her indicating that he was “so tired” and planned to swim that day.
The woman panicked when she heard of Carman’s arrest and the discovery of the body in a suitcase. According to authorities, Carman allegedly concealed Donhomra’s body for 18 hours while he went about his daily routine, including shopping, eating, and doing laundry. “From around 3:30 a.m. until about 9 p.m., he seemed to lead his life as usual,” stated Police Colonel Anek Sratongyu.
In recent updates, it was revealed that Donhomra weighed only 88 pounds and stood approximately 5 feet tall. An autopsy indicated that she suffered injuries from the assault, showing bruising and swelling on her face.
Reportedly Transferred to Prison
Carman has reportedly been moved to a hospital wing in prison for his own safety. A prison official noted that while he isn’t unwell, the policy is to place serious offenders in this area to mitigate risks.
Since his arrest, officials reported that Carman has shown no emotion and has not received any visitation requests from family or friends. His transfer to the hospital wing was prompted by concerns regarding his security among the prison population.
Family Wants Death Penalty
Donhomra’s family, devastated by the loss, has expressed disbelief over Carman’s self-defense claim and is calling for his execution. Oladi Busarakum, Donhomra’s stepmother, stated, “As a mother, I just want him executed.” She mentioned a desperate wish to confront him physically, but was told by police to refrain.
In a strange video message directed at Donhomra’s family, Carman expressed regret over the events, claiming it was “out of my control,” and even urged them to take care of other girls.
Murder Suspect Takes Girls Home ‘Regularly’
Carman resided in a Jomtien Condominium in Pattaya, paying approximately $100 weekly for rent. A friend of Donhomra confronted Carman about her disappearance, revealing the disordered state of his living space with piles of clothing and empty bottles.
Sources indicated that Carman frequently brought young women to his apartment, asking for assistance in cleaning, and at times, would pay them for these services.
Messages after Donhomra’s death suggested she had texted friends that she had arrived at Carman’s apartment, describing it as messy.
Carman was reportedly rejected by another sex worker before he encountered Donhomra and her friends around 3 a.m. on the night of the incident. Surveillance footage confirmed they entered together shortly before the murder occurred.
Around 9 p.m., he was seen leaving the building on a motorbike with a large black suitcase. Authorities claim he concealed Donhomra’s body within a 29-inch suitcase, which was later found dumped next to railroad tracks several miles from the property.
Alongside her remains, her clothing and personal items were located, including items that confirmed her identity through tattoos visible in social media images.
Carman was apprehended at Bangkok’s main international airport while attempting to board a flight to Perth.
