22-Year-Old Man Charged for Threatening Trump

A 22-year-old man from Pennsylvania has been indicted for making threats against then-president Donald Trump prior to his taking office, as announced by the Justice Department on Wednesday.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Pennsylvania revealed that on January 16, the individual, using the TikTok handle “jacob_buckley,” posted threatening remarks. He stated, “I’m going to kill Trump,” and noted the urgency as inauguration day approached.

Buckley, who hails from Port Matilda, commented on his accusations regarding threats against Donald J. Trump during the presidential election cycle, which followed a thorough investigation by federal authorities.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office outlined the potential consequences of such threats, indicating that if convicted, he faces up to five years in prison, along with supervised release and possible fines.

This indictment comes just weeks after an incident where a man from Rhode Island faced charges for similarly threatening to harm Trump and members of his administration. The Justice Department had reported that Carl Montague, 37, was charged with multiple crimes, including threats to the president and various officials.

Montague allegedly posted a profanity-laced comment on June 27, 2025, threatening to shoot and kill not only Trump but also Attorney General Pam Bondi and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. However, the FBI later clarified that Montague did not possess any weapon or plans to carry out such acts of violence.
