New Hampshire Shooting Incident
A man from New Hampshire has been charged with shooting inside a country club last year, resulting in one death. Reports indicate that he confessed to the attack, expressing his intention to target wealthy individuals.
Hunter West Nadeau, 24, told authorities that he entered the Sky Meadow Club in Nashua to take revenge on the affluent, claiming they were not aiding the less fortunate, as mentioned in a police affidavit.
Surveillance footage captured Nadeau entering the club around 7:17 p.m. on September 20, donning a black hoodie and carrying a green backpack.
Once inside Prime Steakhouse, he reportedly wore a mask, brandished a firearm, and fired at employee Steve Bartman, who was struck but survived. Nadeau then allegedly fired additional shots at other diners.
Nadeau is also accused of assaulting Robert Stephen DeCesare, 59, who was dining with his family.
One other customer was hurt during the barrage of gunfire. The affidavit states that Nadeau continued shooting until patrons confronted him, forcing him to retreat from the restaurant.
Witnesses recounted that he yelled “Liberate Palestine” during the chaos.
Authorities later found Nadeau on the golf course, bleeding from an apparent self-inflicted injury. He described himself as an “evil person” and accepted responsibility for the shooting while expressing disdain for wealthy people.
From his hospital bed, he reportedly expressed frustration over the affluent “stealing all the money.” Nadeau indicated he chose Sky Meadow because he had previously worked there and was aware of its wealthy membership.
While he claimed not to have a specific target, he conveyed indifference about the potential consequences of his actions.
Nadeau shared that he didn’t intend to harm “civilians,” justifying his choice of the crowded wedding ceremony taking place at the venue during the shooting.
This incident occurred less than a year after another high-profile shooting involving Luigi Mangione, who allegedly targeted UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan, highlighting potential ideological similarities in their motives.
In January, Nadeau was indicted on various charges, including first-degree murder and reckless second-degree murder, as per the New Hampshire Department of Justice. He remains in custody without bail as he awaits trial.
No attorney has been found to represent him at this time.
