Man accused of throwing snowballs claims he was just having fun while promoting his YouTube channel.

A man who allegedly threw ice snowballs at police officers in New York recently spoke to the Post, insisting he was just enjoying himself with the crowd that day. He took the opportunity to promote his YouTube channel and even sent a shout-out to Mayor Zoran Mamdani.

Guzman Coulibaly, a 27-year-old Bronx resident also known as “Diaper Man,” claimed, “I was just trying to have fun, that’s all.” He filmed the incident and uploaded it to his YouTube account.

Describing the scene, Coulibaly said, “People of all ages were just enjoying the moment.” It’s worth noting that two police officers ended up in the hospital during a snowball fight that attracted hundreds to Washington Square Park on Monday, a gathering that had been promoted on social media.

In an Instagram chat with the Post, Coulibaly remarked, “There’s no age limit to having fun. I’m 27, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy life.” His comment seemed to reference Mamdani’s earlier defense of the snowball fracas, referring to participants as merely “kids” having fun.

He added, “Some of the people there were older than me. It wasn’t about age; it was about going out and having a good time.” Coulibaly emphasized that he came out simply to enjoy himself and return home. “And film for my channel on YouTube, lifeofdiaper,” he included.

When asked if he knew about the officer’s injuries, Coulibaly chose not to delve into specifics, citing the ongoing nature of the case. However, he firmly stated, “I didn’t want anyone to get hurt. That was never my intention. I came with the same feeling as everyone else to have fun and go home.”

Earlier this month, he was arrested for allegedly harassing and attempting to steal a strap hanger, and was initially charged with assaulting a police officer, along with obstruction of public administration and disorderly conduct during the snowball altercation.

Subsequently, the assault charge was dropped by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who determined there wasn’t sufficient evidence connecting Coulibaly’s actions to the injured officer’s injuries.

Eventually, the prosecution settled for misdemeanor charges of harassment and obstruction. Coulibaly has been released while awaiting his next court date.

Both Mayor Mamdani and DA Bragg have faced criticism for their lenient handling of the situation, with some labeling them part of the city’s so-called “axis of anarchy.” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch condemned the officer-involved incident as a “crime” and vowed to support her officers.
