Man in clown mask arrested for alleged Australia gas station robbery

A man has been arrested during a police investigation into a horrific robbery in Australia.

Surveillance video of the incident released last week showed a man wearing a clown mask and black clothing robbing a Holland Park gas station on Dec. 29.

He was seen brandishing what appeared to be a gun at employees as he entered the workplace around 7:30 p.m.

Footage shows him leaning over the counter, grabbing all the cash and running off into the night.

On Saturday, Queensland Police said a 39-year-old man had been charged with armed robbery in connection with the incident.

“Following an investigation which included information provided by members of the public, detectives attended a speech in Mt Gravatt East yesterday where they arrested a 39-year-old man,” police said in a statement.

“He has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.”

No employees were injured in the incident.

The masked man is described as having a slim build and long black hair.
