Florida Man Survives Gunshot Thanks to Gold Cross Necklace
A 20-year-old man from Florida, Aidan Perry, shares his incredible story after being struck by a stray bullet while visiting a friend’s apartment. He credits his survival to both his faith and a gold cross necklace he was wearing at the time.
The bullet, striking the necklace, shattered it, but medical professionals believe it may have deflected the bullet away from critical organs, potentially averting a serious injury or worse. “I feel good; my faith,” Perry reflected during his appearance on “Fox & Friends First.”
Perry explained that he wears the cross as a sign of his faith in Christ. The incident occurred while he and friends were gathering to watch a UFC fight. The bullet entered his chest and traveled near his armpit, fracturing bones in his arms along the way.
Dr. Dana Taylor, a surgeon at Florida Ocala Hospital, explained to Fox News that without the protective influence of the pendant, the bullet might have inflicted severe damage to Perry’s heart, leading to a very different scenario. She noted that each trauma situation is unique and this was especially noteworthy.
Perry’s cross, a symbol of faith he’s worn daily since last Christmas, is now damaged. He is faced with the decision of whether to repair or replace it. Despite the ordeal, he firmly believes in miracles.
Interestingly, it’s reported that Perry was unintentionally arrested in Sumter County and faced charges related to negligence causing injury. It’s a remarkable twist in what’s already a life-changing story for him.
