Neighbor’s Disruptive Behavior Sparks Distress

A resident of Los Angeles has been facing a troubling situation for nearly a year. A man, believed to be in his 60s or 70s, has repeatedly exposed himself to her grandmother, causing considerable distress. The elderly woman, who identified herself only as Michelle, shared her experience, stating that the man even accused her of threatening to call the police, claiming it was “creepy and rude.”

Michelle, 61, lives in a Sherman Oaks complex with her adult son. The man resides across the street in an apartment where he frequently walks around naked, unfortunately visible through her large open windows from both her living and dining areas.

Describing the unsettling encounters, Michelle said, “I’m sitting there eating dinner and I see movement out of the corner of my eye. I look up and he’s completely naked.” This has understandably upset her family, leading her to state, “This is going to be traumatic for everyone. You don’t have to live like this in your own home.”

Initially drawn to her apartment’s floor-to-ceiling windows for the natural light, she now finds them a source of distress as she often spots the man undressed when she looks up. He’s particularly visible in her bedroom, which directly faces his living space. Sometimes, she jokingly notes, she gets dressed only to quickly find herself naked again shortly after.

Frustrated, she and her son have repeatedly pleaded with the man to close his blinds. They even knocked on his door to express their concerns. As a result, Michelle left a sign informing him that her grandchildren, aged 3 to 11, would be visiting. The sign warned of potential police involvement if his behavior continued.

In a peculiar twist, the man responded by posting a sign of his own. It read, “Close the blinds! Don’t stare into my creepy and rude bedroom! If it’s a real emergency, call 911!”

Michelle has reached out to her building management multiple times. While they acknowledged the situation, she felt no action was taken. She also attempted to contact the police via a non-emergency line but grew frustrated after waiting on hold for over an hour. Now, she intends to visit the LAPD in person to file a report, expressing difficulty in finding the right category online.
