A New York man has found himself in a deeply troubling situation concerning his former wife.

Timothy Taylor, who resided in Brooklyn, fatally stabbed his ex-wife, Tishawn Folkes-Taylor, in May 2023. This horrifying act took place in front of her three children at their home in Schenectady.

During a guilty plea for the murder on July 1, prosecutors disclosed a perplexing shift in Taylor’s emotions prior to the act. He reportedly expressed regret, stating that he felt an overwhelming hostility but knew he had to act violently, in contrast to his initial feelings about previous actions.

At 38, Taylor is under scrutiny for another murder, this time involving a woman named Greg, who was a mother of two and worked for the city’s Department of Homeless Services.

Following the attack on Greg, Taylor seemed to grapple with regret. On May 27, he entered her residence and committed the violent act.

In a brave attempt to protect her children, Folkes-Taylor defended herself during the assault. District Attorney Robert M. Carney noted the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the children, particularly the eldest, who were significantly affected.

After the tragic incident, Taylor fled the scene by climbing out of a window in his ex-wife’s bedroom. He discarded his clothes on the way to downtown Schenectady, eventually returning to a hotel to gather his belongings before boarding a bus.

On June 2, 2023, with aid from the former USA Bureau, Taylor was located and arrested by NYPD officers at a bar in Philadelphia. He was subsequently extradited back to New York to face multiple murder charges.

Folkes-Taylor is remembered as a mother of three, two of whom are Taylor’s children. Authorities have indicated that the couple had a tumultuous history, marked by incidents of domestic violence over their decade-long marriage.
