Arrest Made in Disneyland Paris Wedding Incident

On Saturday, French law enforcement apprehended a British man, accused of orchestrating a costly private wedding with a minor at Disneyland Paris. Authorities identified him as a convicted pedophile from the UK.

The 39-year-old, along with several accomplices, rented out the theme park, engaged extras, and staged a wedding ceremony with a nine-year-old girl from Ukraine. This act came as a shock to witnesses, according to reports.

Known as “Jackie” Jazzy from London, this man has a history of staging distasteful hoaxes, including a phony red carpet event in 2023 and a fake funeral in 2024, as noted in the Daily Mail.

Meaux prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier revealed that Jazzy had previously been convicted in the UK for sexual offenses targeting minors. He is listed on the UK Sex Offender Registry and is currently wanted by UK authorities for violating the terms of that registration.

Interestingly, Jazzy reportedly spent £110,000 to secure the Disneyland venue for this bizarre wedding ceremony, drawing a reaction from Peter Williams, director of the Family Education Trust, who described the situation as “fascinating.”

In a previous case in 2016, Jazzy received a four-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls, whom he manipulated with alcohol.

For the wedding event, a man was hired for €12,000 to impersonate the girl’s father, only to discover that the “bride” was indeed a child. Disneyland staff expressed disbelief as the girl, dressed in intricate heels, struggled to walk. It was reported that witnesses felt disturbed by the entire scenario.

Among the approximately 100 guests hired for the event, one woman shared with the BBC that seeing the young girl brought her to tears, calling it “terrifying.”

The suspect was taken into custody along with the girl’s 41-year-old mother, a 24-year-old Latvian woman posing as the bride’s sister, and a 55-year-old Latvian man. Charges included fraud, trust violations, money laundering, and identity theft, according to the BBC.

The event, rather than a genuine marriage, was described as a staged spectacle, with guests acting as extras. It was reported that Jazzy had secured the venue for several hours at a hefty cost of €130,000 ($150,000).

According to the girl’s mother, the intention was for her daughter to experience a “princess” day at Disney, as the young girl had arrived in France just days before the incident. Following the event, a medical examination confirmed that the girl had not been subjected to violence or coercion.
