Subway Incident in Manhattan
On Monday night, a 71-year-old man and another individual were pushed onto the subway tracks at a lower Manhattan station, according to police reports.
While both victims sustained injuries, they managed to return to the platform before the next train arrived.
The accused, identified as 35-year-old Terrell Corey, reportedly pushed a 30-year-old man into the R and W train at Whitehall Street Station around 10:30 PM.
Law enforcement indicates that an argument arose between Corey and the two men prior to the incident, although the specifics of the disagreement remain unclear. It is also unknown if the victims were acquainted.
The elderly man sustained a broken elbow, while the younger victim suffered the amputation of his left elbow and right little finger, in addition to lower back pain.
Both individuals were transported to New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.
Corey, a resident of Brooklyn, was apprehended at the scene and faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
