Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly stole $100,000 worth of spinal implants from a car in a Center City parking lot last week.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on February 19, an unknown male was captured on video breaking into a car in a parking lot and stealing a medical implant, according to a Philadelphia Police Department press release.

Police said the suspect was a male, wearing a surgical mask and wearing all black clothing.

The video showed the suspect exiting the parking lot carrying a garbage bag.

Officials added that if you see the suspect, please do not approach him and call 911 immediately.

Commercial and residential burglaries have increased by about 2% since 2023, according to the Philadelphia Police Department’s latest crime statistics report.

Despite this recent car break-in, the report shows that car thefts are down nearly 34% from 2023. Overall property crime is down 16% from last year.
