Amputee Charged in Friend’s Death After Alleged Shooting

A 27-year-old amputee, Dayton James Weber, has shared several videos online, showcasing his shooting abilities despite having lost limbs. The clips surfaced following a violent altercation in Maryland, where he is accused of shooting and killing an acquaintance.

In 2024, Weber highlighted his marksmanship on his blog and YouTube account, even posting a video titled “No Hands No Feet Shooting 9mm Handgun!!!!.” Here, he can be seen loading and firing rounds from a gun, smiling widely at the camera.

Another video captures him using a .54 cal Caplock Muzzleloader and includes the hashtag “#nolimits.” In yet another clip, Weber climbs a tall ladder with a rifle strapped to his back during a hunting trip.

The videos gained attention after an incident late Sunday night, where Weber was arrested on suspicion of killing Bradrick Michael Wells, 27. According to police reports, a heated argument erupted between the two while they were in a Tesla SUV, shortly before 10:30 p.m.

After the argument, two passengers in the backseat quickly exited the vehicle when Weber pulled up nearby. Wells was later found dead in the car, and Weber reportedly fled the scene after other passengers declined to help him move the body.

Authorities located Wells’ body about two hours later after someone alerted them to its presence in a garden in Charlotte Hall. Meanwhile, Weber’s vehicle was traced over 100 miles away in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was discovered at a hospital seeking treatment for a “medical issue.”

Now charged as a fugitive, Weber awaits extradition to Maryland to face murder charges. Notably, he lost his lower arms and legs due to a bacterial infection at just 10 months old. He later became a professional player in the American Cornhole League, gaining local attention for his wrestling skills during childhood.

Reflecting on his early experiences, Weber once noted the importance of independence in sports, stating, “I like playing to my strengths and being healthy.” However, he acknowledged, “Sometimes I look at my teammates in certain situations and wish I had a hand, but I’m just trying to do things my way.”
