A Tampa police officer said: arrested for rape The 61-year-old woman had previously been arrested as a “peeping tom” in the same community.
According to an arrest affidavit, 28-year-old Jordan Davis broke into a woman’s home at Nebraska Avenue and Ellicott Street on May 10 around 11 p.m.
“He’s sneaky.”
Police say Davis found the woman in bed, placed a pillow over her face and sexually assaulted her.
Police said Davis did not travel very far after the assault, but was quickly found after the victim called 911 and gave a very detailed description of the suspect.
Tampa Police Department spokesman Johnny Lewis praised the woman who helped police catch the alleged assailant.
“She showed great courage in being able to call us after this traumatic ordeal and give us such a good description that we were able to immediately find this person and get him off the street. ” Lewis said.
Davis was arrested and charged with sexual assault and robbery.

Police said the man was previously arrested in February 2023 after a woman caught him staring at him from her window for about 20 minutes.
The victim in that case pretty much predicted what would have happened if the man had not been taken away.
“He needs help and needs to be housed in a facility where he won’t do this to other people,” Rachel Cronin said.
She said the video shows him trying to get in by turning the doorknob, which was locked.
“What would he have done next after observing the woman alone in the house if it had been unlocked?”
She provided security footage to WTVT-TV that showed Davis on the porch of her home staring at her through a window. Later in the video, she can be heard screaming and cursing at him to leave her house and never return.
Davis had been released from prison for theft just six days before the 2013 Tom Peeping incident.
Neighbors were horrified to hear about the rape allegation.
“I think he’s despicable, for sure,” Manuel Fernandez said. “My heart goes out to her. I am so sorry that this happened to her. This is a profound tragedy.”
“We don’t want this to happen to anyone else in our community,” Lewis said.
