The caretaker for a former nurse has been accused of inappropriately touching her in her own home. Bobby Mendel Bester, a 47-year-old from Slidell, Louisiana, may face a life sentence after a jury found him guilty of sexual assault.
During a trial, it was revealed that Bester entered the victim’s room while she was in bed, noting that her socks had slipped off. He then proceeded to close the door and blinds and began massaging her feet, asking if she was ticklish.
Prosecutors stated that he tickled her and pressed his genitals against her during these unwanted acts. At one point, hearing footsteps near the door made Bester halt his actions, waiting for the noise to pass before continuing.
It took police six years to apprehend Bester. He was finally arrested in February 2024, confessing to having a foot fetish but denying the allegations against him.
In a separate incident, a real estate agent testified that Bester had called her office, pretending to be interested in purchasing a property but instead asking her out on a date, which she declined. He continued to call, leaving her unsettling voicemails in which he made inappropriate comments.
Bester could face a prison sentence ranging from 25 years to life.
