A man known for random violent acts against women has been released after his latest incident where he allegedly kicked a 7-year-old boy in Brooklyn. Jesse Daniels, 23, previously made headlines for a bizarre incident involving a pigeon in Pennsylvania Station.
The attack on the boy occurred on Schenectady Avenue around 2:35 p.m. on March 6, with Daniels reportedly delivering a kick to the child’s left ear, causing him to fall. At the time, the boy was simply playing outside, and despite the shock of the event, he declined medical assistance.
Daniels was taken into custody on Tuesday, facing charges including attempted second- and third-degree assault and harassment, as detailed in court documents. However, he was released on his own recognizance the next day, as the charges fell under the state’s bail reform laws, which don’t allow bail for these specific offenses.
According to police, Daniels, who hails from Queens, is recognizable for his Boston Celtics jacket and the basketball he carries. He has a troubling history, having been arrested six times over the past year.
In addition to the recent boy’s case, Daniels is also implicated in attacks against two women. On March 27, he allegedly punched them in quick succession in front of Goldman Sachs. Both women sustained noticeable injuries and pain, according to the complaint. Daniels fled but was arrested on April 2, facing multiple charges related to the assaults. He was later released under a judge’s supervision despite the prosecution’s request for bail.
Earlier, on March 12, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 31-year-old woman in Penn Station, again receiving a supervised release rather than being held on bail.
Possibly his most shocking act occurred on February 13, when he reportedly killed a pigeon at Penn Station and showed no remorse. Upon questioning by police, he seemed indifferent, saying, “Is it because I killed the bird? I just killed it. But I’m never going to do it again.” He had also mentioned his Celtics jacket, which he did not wear because it had blood and feathers on it.
Furthermore, Daniels was arrested last October for jumping a turnstile in Queens and had a previous assault charge from July 31, 2025, where he reportedly punched a 64-year-old woman at a subway station without any provocation. The outcomes of those charges are still unclear, but he is due back in court regarding his recent attack on the child.
