Marco Rubio Takes Steps Against Minnesota Governor’s Pardoned Pedophile

State Secretary Marco Rubio has announced that the dangerous pedophile pardoned by Minnesota’s Democratic Governor Tim Walz will no longer pose a threat to the public due to his actions. In 2005, Thu Lu Van from Laos admitted to committing severe sexual abuse against a 10-year-old child and accepted a suspended 30-year sentence to avoid prison time.

Vann had his probation terminated early, and a committee that included Walz voted to pardon him in June, potentially allowing him to stay in the country until Rubio stepped in.

He remarked in a social media video, “Just days before this foreign sex offender was meant to be deported, Governor Tim Walz granted him clemency, allowing him to endanger America’s children again.” Following Rubio’s intervention, Vann lost his legal status, leading to federal agents taking him into custody and deporting him, as Rubio confirmed. “Thanks to our actions, this criminal alien will never again pose a threat to Americans,” he stated.

In contrast, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, a member of the Pardons Commission, sought to defend the pardon in a statement to KSTP-TV. He stated that the Minnesota Board of Pardons made a unanimous decision to grant Vann clemency after considering support statements from the victim, the Pardon Review Board’s recommendation, and various community letters.

Ellison accused the Department of Homeland Security of misrepresenting the situation regarding Vann’s pardon protecting him from deportation.

Interestingly, there were victims who expressed support for the pardon. One victim shared, “What happened to me was wrong, but over the years, I’ve made peace with it. I forgive him. I want his family to be with him. He has children who need a father and a life he has built. I think he’s learned and grown since then, and his family has suffered enough.”

Rubio maintained, “Americans should never coexist with foreign sex offenders who have no right to be here,” emphasizing that his administration will always stand by the American people and ensure their safety against violent criminals.
