Mariah Carey denies claims that her 2024 Spotify rap video message to fans was generated by AI.
Carey, dubbed the “Queen of Christmas,” addressed the viral video that caused an uproar among fans.
“The lighting is bad and my lips are red. Do you think this is AI??” Carey, 55, declared on X. “There's a reason I'm not a fan of either!”

“All I Want for Christmas” shared her comments ahead of the Boston show.
In the video message wrapped on Spotify, Carey was seen wearing a red and white Santa Claus dress with Christmas lights in the background.
“Thank you so much for listening to my music on Spotify. Your support for a year is the greatest gift I could ask for,” she shared in the video.

She ended her personal Spotify video message by blowing a kiss and wishing her fans a happy holiday season.
Some fans were convinced that Carey's video was generated by AI.

“For half a second I thought this was literally AI… you look so perfect!” one fan wrote.
Another commenter said, “I thought it was AI…but I'm glad you sent me a message!''
Some people wondered, “Wait, isn't it AI?…”

A series of comments pointed out that Carey had criticized the staff in charge of the incident, saying the lighting was “bad.”
“It's not a shadow of the lighting staff,” added the fan.

Carey's comments came amid a fight that broke out during her Christmas concert.
During the Grammy Award winner's performance of “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, two men got into a heated exchange in the audience and got jostled.

In the video, a woman tried to restrain one of the men, but Carey appeared calm during the scuffle.
The fight appears to have started when a woman sitting near the stage shoved another woman sitting in front of her. According to a video shared online, the blonde turned around and threw a drink at the brunette behind her. The two are believed to have been involved after that.
“Where's the tight security??” someone can be heard saying from off-screen.

Meanwhile, Carey continued to perform her hit Christmas songs to close out the show.
Carey's Christmas hit has been a Christmas staple since its release in 1994. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over 10 million copies.
