The Giants’ offseason “Hard Knocks” is one of the most intriguing additions to the franchise in a long time, a chance to take an in-depth look at the scouting process and how teams prepare for the NFL Draft, pressuring prospects to try and screw them up.
Tuesday night was Marvin Harrison Jr.’s turn, and the Giants tried their best to lure the top WR of the 2024 class to run against QB Kyle McCord, but we got a stellar response from the youngster who already gets it. that’s right what will you do.
Harrison sat down to watch film of himself with WR coach Mike Groh as his QB was served up at a plate.
Glow: You have a guy who is young and developing at his position. He beats a guy like this and has a chance for a touchdown and he underthrows it. What would you say to him in the huddle?
Harrison Jr.: I don’t say anything to the quarterback. I don’t say anything to the quarterback.
Glow: I mean, that’s a terrible throw, right?
Harrison Jr.: I mean… I can play. I can still play. I have nothing to say to the quarterback. I always blame myself because I want to play.
It would have been easy to inflate his own reputation at the expense of the young quarterback or justify one bad clip against a top-five team by admitting it was a bad pass, but Harrison Jr. didn’t do that. Instead, he talked about what he could have done to make that pass and fully accepted his role in that moment.
This is truly a masterpiece from Harrison Jr. and proof of why he’s going to be a star.
