Maryland workers sickened by food poisoning in mass incident

At a Maryland company, nearly 50 employees were taken to the hospital after a co-worker's homemade food caused a mass outbreak of food poisoning.

According to FOX 5 DC, rescue crews from the Howard County Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the NAFCO Wholesale Seafood Distributor building in Jessup, Maryland, around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

About 46 adults reported feeling sick and exhibiting symptoms of food poisoning. All were taken to nearby hospitals, but none were in serious condition.

NAFCO reported in a statement obtained by FOX 5 that the mass poisoning was caused by food brought in by employees. Meals were prepared over the weekend and delivered to work on Monday.
