Video shows a California thief committing a brazen robbery at an Apple Store in broad daylight, then driving past a police car and getting into a getaway car.
In the video, a masked man wearing all black goes from table to table, ripping cell phones from their displays and stuffing them into his pockets. In the approximately 45-second clip, he has dozens of phones costing him hundreds of dollars each. As witnesses watched, the person recording the video closely followed the person as he exited the store and got into a black Hyundai, ramming into police cars.
The Emeryville Police Department said the theft occurred at the Apple Store in Emeryville, East Bay, less than eight miles from Oakland, KRON reported.
Emeryville Police told the outlet that no one was injured in the theft, which occurred at 10:27 a.m. Monday.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Emeryville Police Department for additional information, but did not immediately receive a response.

EPD also revealed that the police vehicle seen in the video is a “ghost car” used to deter crime. There were no police officers in the car.
“The police vehicle in front of the store is the department’s ‘ghost car,’ which is parked at various locations as a police presence to deter criminal activity. No EPD officers were present.” [sic] This crime occurred,” EPD said.

The video had more than 10 million views combined on TikTok and X as of Thursday morning.
According to E’Ville Eye, the Apple Store featured in the video was closed for several months last year, but reopened in January.
