Massachusetts Democrat says she was targeted by bomb threat

Rep. Lori Tuhan (D-Mass.) said she and her family were the targets of a bomb threat on Saturday.

“This morning I learned of a bomb threat aimed at my family and me,” she posted. Social media platform.

“We are grateful to the outstanding officers of the Westford Police Department who responded quickly and are currently working with the U.S. Capitol Police and Massachusetts State Police on this incident,” she wrote.

Trahan is among the growing number of politicians receiving bomb threats, which is having a major impact on Republican candidates for the next administration. A Democratic congressman in Connecticut was the target of threats over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The FBI noted past threats and said it was aware of “numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents,” or false emergency calls aimed at someone's home. It said it is working with law enforcement partners and “takes all potential threats seriously.”

The Hill has reached out to Trahan's office for further comment.
